Structured literacy intervention for children with dyslexia

We design and deliver targeted, explicit, systematic and structured intervention to close gaps and build confidence in reading, spelling and writing.

Explicit instruction removes the guesswork. Skills are directly taught, modelled and practised so the learner knows exactly what to do.

Systematic teaching ensures skills are introduced in a carefully planned order, starting with simple concepts and building step-by-step toward more complex concepts.

Structured learning provides consistency and repetition, helping learners to build on knowledge and commit it to long term memory.

Common signs of dyslexia

Students with dyslexia often show consistent patterns of difficulty with reading, spelling and writing. The signs look different depending on age. These include:

  • Avoids reading out loud

  • Slow, choppy or inaccurate reading

  • Difficulty decoding words (especially unfamiliar words)

  • Poor spelling

  • Trouble remembering sight words

  • Mixing up letters

  • Weak phonological awareness (struggling to break words into sounds)

  • Difficulty organising their thoughts and slow to start their writing

  • Fatigue or frustration during literacy tasks

Dyslexia is not about intelligence - many are bright and creative thinkers. Dyslexic learners need explicit, systematic and structured instruction that targets their core skills of reading to thrive.
